Simon Blaney: Rider Profile

There's a new addition to the rider profiles section - Simon Blaney:

I haven't known Simon very long. However, in the short time that I have known him, I've learned that he really likes snowboarding - a lot.

The first time I met him there was a small group of us sitting around drinking cold beer and talking about snowboarding. Simon happened to have his laptop with him and we spent a good hour sifting through photos, watching footage and talking about how good Canada is (well I haven't been yet, so I was just kinda listening). Excellent! I asked Simon if he wanted to use some of his stuff for a profile on afterbang - and here it is...

Nice profile.

I was in Lake Louise about seven years ago and it was awesome. I was there late in the season so the snow wasn't as good as in Simon's videos. But it is still a great resort.

In 2004 I visited Fernie and it is another great resort. Their motto is 'Steep and Deep' and it holds true!

I've been reading through your archives. You've got a really good blog going here. Very interesting reading about the indoor parks you have. I wish they would do that over here in Canada for the off season.

Hey thanks Sam. There's a blog from a guy in Canada - Highly Obsessed - you may well have seen it, and he's mentioned the same thing about parks for the off-season...

Hi,
I know this is probably unusual because I have nothing to do with snowboarding.
But if Simon Blaney is reading this, will he please contact me?
We are a Dutch family living in La Vallee Corbon.
61210 La Fresnaye au Sauvage.
I think Simon lived here as a child.
We have tried to find his family but till now with no results. We have a big problem with the septic tank but can't find the location on the map.
Maybe he or his father can help us out?
Thanks,
Patricia Frencken

Thanks,

Hi Patricia, I passed your message on to Simon, but it seems that this is the wrong Simon Blaney...

Hi Gavin,

Thanks for your reply.
I finally thought that I found a member of the Blaney family. We are searching for months now.
First we were given the name Martin Blaney as the former owner of our house.
But he must be vanished somewhere in the world. Every piece of information is a dead end.
Then I found an old music stand on the attic with the name of Simon Blaney.
And I thought this must be the son.
So......I came (again) till here.
But anyway, thanks!!
