Over the past 6 months or so, I've decided that I'm interested in becoming qualified as a snowboard instructor. At the moment I have no idea what qualification I need to go for, how long it will take and how much it will cost... I guess it is time to start finding some of this information.
This looks interesting - but I suppose the British Association of Snowsport Instructors is the place to start.
Anyone got experience with this kind of thing? Anyone qualified as an instructor and can help out?

There are probably many ways to become a snowboard instructor, I know of two. During my season in New Zealand there were a bunch of people who signed up for a whole season of instructing and they had an exam at the end. They were out boarding every day and learning the ropes. There was an alternative, a week long intensive course followed by the same exam. Most people i know that this this week long intensive course had spent the whole season boarding too. A friend of mine, Rob, decided to try the intensive course. Rob is an excellent boarder and well suited to teaching people but he, along with most other intensive course people, failed the exam. He failed on a very minor point, but maybe he had picked up the wrong habits during his free riding season.
