I read an article in Document Snowboard a while ago that recommended making your own snowboard movie as one way to keep the fun of snowboarding going.
It totally does. Well, that's what I think anyway. Not only is making the movie fun, watching it back with your friends later is even better.
We recorded a fair amount of footage this season in Laax: most of it on the hill, but quite a lot of just fun-stuff too. Each person is editting their own section ready for inclusion in a group DVD. It's kinda nice to tinker on with a mini project as the season is fading out. It should be fun!
I'll post some of the sequences on here, as and when they're finished. I've only just started to look at the footage, so it could be a while before I produce something. But to start things off, here's a compilation of some slams, courtesy of my sister...

LOL, that was great! Nice editing. I agree, the videos are fun to make. I've actually learned a little from seeing myself in videos. In my own mind, my style was all clean and crisp.. In the videos... not so much... I looked kind of like a bird in the air, flapping my arms wildly! I was also getting a couple of feet of air at most - while in my mind I thought I was at least 35 maybe 40 feet above the earth. ;)

You're right on with regards to watching the video afterwards. It always feels different to how it looks. But I think that's one of the reasons I like to capture the video: as well as being fun to watch it helps you to learn...

but really i am starting from cratch and dont even know any editing programs... which program did you use and what kind of camera do you have?

I used to use Adobe Premier Pro, I had a copy "hanging around" - but I don't have that anymore. Yo be honest, I've been making do with Windows Movie Maker (it's free). It's not great, but I don't do loads of editing so it gets me by...
Oh - camera, I've got a panasonic. It's pretty good, especially for the price. You probably can't get that model anymore, but in general I went for something with decent quality, and something that was a good shape for holding while snowboarding. It's Mini DV format.
